Nestled between the blue sea of the Torre Vado marina and the natural green landscape of the coastal apparatus is a residential unit. ‘House CC’, as it is called, was built as a summer residence.
The work embodies several values: it is a significant example of contemporary architecture, typical of the architectural language of the time. The context and interaction with the environment also makes it significant from a landscape point of view.
Two large glass openings bind the architecture to its surroundings, the surrounding landscape and the horizon of the sea.
The design of House CC’s surroundings is characterised by the total restoration of the dry stone walls, some of them containing the overflowing water.
The overcoming of the various differences in level is reinterpreted by resorting to wide platforms. The traditional concept of staircase is thus altered, allowing the difference in level to be ‘stylised’ with the various platforms mentioned above.
